It was 34 degrees but at least there was no wind. The bad part about riding early in the morning is that it's dark. The good part is that there's little to no wind. And though it was slightly below freezing with the wind chill factor, my toes didn't go numb until about the last 10-15 minutes.
The last time I rode early in the morning, there was a full moon. I wasn't so lucky this time, but I did see Venus (according to the Star Map on Weather Underground), large and orange-colored, low in the sky to the East. According to this star map, I should have been able to see Saturn, too, but couldn't find it anywhere in the sky.
