Daily Drudgery

Shakespeare said it best:

That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold
Bare ruined choirs where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou seest the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west,
Which by and by black night doth steal away...

And so on and so forth.

People always marvel over Shakespeare's writing, but they usually overlook his fortune-telling capabilities. Billy boy KNEW we cyclists would be riding indoor trainers one day in the winter after daylight savings time ended. This sonnet is proof of that ("That time of year...", "...after sunset fadeth in the west..."). Afterall, with a forehead as large as his was, you know SOMETHING had to be going on up there. His was a phrenologist's dream.

Last night's workout was done Mr. T style: alone, in my cold apartment garage, with nothing on the walls. I did have my iPod, though.

00:00 - 10:00: Warm-up - 39 x 15
10:01 - 15:00: Sprints Set 1 - 0:15(0:45) in 53 x 15
15:01 - 20:00: Recovery - 39 x 15
20:01 - 25:00: Sprints Set 2 - 0:15(0:45) in 53 x 15
25:01 - 30:00: Recovery - 39 x 15
30:01 - 40:00: Intervals - 1:00(2:00) in 53 x 19,17 at high cadence
40:01 - 45:00: Warm-down - 39 x 16,17

Sure, it was only 45 minutes. But it hurt like hell, nonetheless, b/c my legs are still "ruined" from last Saturday's Dirty Duathlon.
